Dr. McKinney has been practicing Allergy and Immunology since completing her Fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Institutes of Health in 2011. She was honored as Fellow of the Year in her graduating class. She earned her medical degree in 2002 from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Michigan and completed her residency in Pediatrics from Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in 2005. After spending 4 years as a Board Certified Pediatrician at the Vicenza Army Hospital, Italy, she transitioned into the field of Allergy. Her Army career brought her to the Pacific Northwest in 2011 where she was a Lieutenant Colonel for the US Army Medical Corps and served as Chief of Allergy/ Immunology at Madigan Army Medical Center. During this period, she proudly served at the Forward Operating Base Sharana in Afghanistan in 2012/2013. She joined the Allergy and Asthma Specialty Service, P.S. in 2014.

Dr. McKinney is Board Certified in Adult and Pediatric Allergy/Immunology. Her interest in the Allergy field came from having asthma and allergies herself and being on allergen immunotherapy (also known as Allergy Shots) starting at age 5 years, which significantly improved her state of health. Her two children also have food allergies, eczema and asthma. Because of these experiences, she shares empathy with her patients. Her goal is to help improve the quality of life for those under her care.

Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys running, hiking, other outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
